How we work together

Bolton’s Framework for Action will ensure that professionals work together to support children to achieve their full potential and that children at risk are properly protected.

It is agreed that all organisations in Bolton use this Framework.  This will promote the use of a common language, understanding and consistency across all services for children, young people, families and staff from all organisations.

The Children Act 2004 identified 5 key outcomes that all children and young people believe are crucial to wellbeing in childhood and later life.

Every Child Matters:  Change for Children sets out the National context for local change programmes to build services around the needs of children and young people to maximise opportunity and minimise risk.  These 5 outcomes are inter-dependent.  They show the important relationship between educational achievements and well-being.  Children and young people thrive when they are healthy and safeguarded from harm and are enabled to make a positive contribution.

The Framework for Action provides a consistent approach for workers to identify and respond to children’s needs appropriately.

The Framework is underpinned by the following principles:-

Integrated working will avoid duplication and unnecessary intrusion into family life.
