Serious case reviews

Serious Case Reviews are always carried out by Bolton Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) where a child has died and abuse or neglect are suspected to be a factor in the death.

BSCB can also conduct a Serious Case Review where one or more of the following criteria are:

And the case raises concerns about how organisations have worked together to safeguard and promote the welfare of the child.

Serious Case Reviews have been developed to try and learn lessons from these tragedies improve services and potentially prevent future tragedies.

Any agency or individual can discuss a child death with BSCB to consider whether it meets the criteria for an Initial Serious Case Review Panel.  You should contact:
