Keeping Children Safe (Level 2) and the Child Protection Process

Target Group:
All staff who work directly with children and young people and who may have to attend a child protection conference.

N.B. Participants will be expected to have a basic knowledge of safeguarding issues before attending this course. This may have been gained through practice and/or by attending the Keeping Children Safe, Level 1 course.

Course Duration: 2 Days

Dates:
4 & 5 November 2008

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course participants will have:

- Developed their knowledge and understanding of factors contributing to child abuse and its impact on the child

- Enhanced their understanding of some of the less common types of child abuse

- A better understanding of their role and responsibilities in the child protection process, including child protection conferences and core groups.
