Course Objectives:
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- Recognise some of the main symptoms of emotional, physical and sexual abuse, and neglect, and understand your responsibility to report any behaviour that may place a child at risk of harm
- Respond appropriately if you have a concern about a child: to understand the referral process and your role within this
- Be aware of relevant legislation and how it translates into working practice
- Follow national and local child protection procedures (including understanding the Common Assessment Framework and Bolton's Child Concern Model)
- Introduce the Child Action meeting and your role in this
- Apply safeguarding principles in an antidiscriminatory manner
